Fed up with losing arrows to the blackberries I got some SGB's from Outback. They fly really well and did the trick on this big lady rabbit from 10m, who will be gracing our table tonight. I was using my little 25# recurve. No messy wound channels and tainted meat, just a quick death from a very effective blunt.

Mr Trapdoor
You must have a keen eye to drop that wabbit with the gear you got.
Good luck Denis

Thanks Denis but it's easy to twang that little 25# bow, although you do need to shoot a little higher to hit anything more than about 15m away :) I am using pretty heavy arrows too, which helps take the bunnies down. A 30m shot with a blunt out of the 25# bow would only tickle a rabbit though, I suspect!

I suspect the bow poundage may have a little to do with no wound channels......lol, but good job, you must be one helluva good stalker to get so close
Nice one trapdoor, hope you enjoy your rabbit stew :)

Cheers guys. Woody, your SGB's are unreal, I'll remember to shoot from further away to keep the bunny intact when I up my poundage though! That's very good, because getting to within 10m is a bit tedious, but worth the effort when I can pull it off.

She cooked up very nicely. Mostly tender! Makes me happy, and want to go hunting :)

Well done and I'm hungry.
Well done, I am amazed what you have do with such a light poundage bow; meal looks good too, mark

Here's yesterday's effort with the little bow and Outback SGB. Sadly all good things come to an end and I received my 50# bow today; the 25# bow can go and get ....ed (packed?) and I can be a real man and shoot 1. big animals and 2. from further than 10m. Hooray!!!! I doubt the bunnies will appreciate the bow as I do though :P
