Depends on what you want the rest for.
For target or 3-D I use a drop away.
For hunting I use a W/B...
Bill
I want to use it for hunting anmd ive had problems with the whisker biscuit and i dont really like it, any other rests that are quiet and shoot consistantly. Ive heard that the spot hogg whammy is quite quiet, is this true, and do you think of the the drop away from limbsaver. Also what are the NAP quicktune 800 , 1000 and 3000 like how well do they perform and how quiet are they

Hi,
I have a quicktune 2000 and it is noisy. You can hear hit the shelf even with rubber padding under it. I adjusted it so it just touched and you can here a loud clicking sound from the rest.

You want it to hit the rest, if it doesn't, it hits a roll pin ( might have been changed to a solid pin now) and will eventually sheer it off.
do you guys know of any really quiet rests apart from the whisker biscuit, this is for hunting

and the NAP Quicktune 360.

Our sponsors sell both I believe.
But I have used a WB for a long time and have not considered the sound to be a problem.

Had A Quicktune 800, now have a Whisker Biscuit. Quicktune performs well and is reasonably quiet. Except for when drawing. Slight sliding noise. Bad time to make a noise though. Arrow rests on it quite well too. Just seems to sit there. As long as the bow is vertical. I had trouble with hurried shots when the arrow fell off the rest a couple of times. Doesn't happen with the WB and it makes no noise at all. Also with the WB I don't get a cramp in my hand from hooking my index finger over the arrow to hold it on the rest on a long stalk.

Quietest drop-away I have ever used is a Mathews convertible, but when analysing a rest just remember that your ear is only about 27-28" away from the contact point.
It's better to get someone a couple of yards away to tell you how noisy the rest is.
On all my drop-aways, after setup, the release made more noise than the drop of the rest.
Again, the release is right next to your ear so it will sound noisy.
A mathews convertable, how much are they and can they be attached a bowtech tomkat 08 model, do you know a place australia where i can get one new, any more info on this rest would be appreciated and are they really quiet, thanx

I don't know whether a Mathews rest will fit a Bowtech.
I have got one that I had on my Outback but, unfortunately, it wouldn't fit the Ross.
They are a very well designed rest with a rubber pad that cushions the prongs in the lowered position to quieten the drop.
oh ok thanx anyway, what do you think of the NAP quicktune 3000 how good are they
I have one of these on my second Triby and they are very quite and give excellent containment mate.

Muzzy Zero Effect for silence, accuracy and reliability in my experience. Fool-proof installation and tuning (comes with a DVD/video). No cord to adjust, prongs to dampen, wear issues- it just works as it was designed. Have done no maintenence in 2 years since initial fitting. Put an arrow gripper in front of it (all the benefits of a full containment rest), which will hold yer arra until the retentive fork picks the shaft up and your on your way to skewering bliss. Best luck with your choice.
Thanx wheres a good site where i can get some more info on this rest and how much is it
g'day, your talking about the whammy, have you had a look at spot hoggs website they have some short footage of the whammy and a few of the other dropaway rests in slow mo...very interesting to see.....
