View Full Version : Switchback XT or Drenalin
My brother is looking for a really good compound bow that goes to 30in draw and one that has a axel to axel length no more than 34in. He cant decide between the Mathews switchback xt or the drenalin any help and opinions would be very much appreciated.

I have the Switchback XT- I can't conceive of a better bow to shoot... but I've not yet shot the Drenalin!

Hey Mate, why doesn't he try a few different brands of bows?,can he get to a decent archery shop where he can shoot a few demo bows,or maybe to a local club,it might help him
we would but at Hoddywell they dont have a huge range of bows but ive got the 08 bowtech tomkat and he loves the smooth draw, another bow he was lokking at was the tribute, as this is a short bow with a good draw amount
The axel to axel length is abit to much
Try b4 you buy, good advice there bud..........

All good bows mentioned here.
I agree with the try as many as possible.
Dont forget the Mathews DXT as its a very good bow as well.
Then there are the Mission line made by Mathews. Great bows at half the price of the Mathews...

I would get my brother to try before you buy but here in western australia the local shops dont have a huge range of bows
does the drenalin go to a 30.5in draw and possibly 31in
cheers

This might help, its a comparison of the three bows. DXT, Drenalin and Switchback XT.
I have shot the switchback xt and its a VERY nice bow but i own a Drenalin becasue i found it just that bit better.

If you want a 31 inch draw you will need to go to a Dren LD (long draw), they have a much longer ATA but shoot sweet IMO. Also a bit heavier and I’m not too fussed on the quiver but when you have arms like a Gibbon you don’t have much choice do you?

Here is an LD, you will note the longer ata. If you have a close look at the quiver you wiil see the lack of support for the sharfts, this is the one feture on the bow I do not like but as I said imo they shoot sweet, no vibration and very little noise, they are so quiet I have not felt the need for any additional string dampening.
As others have said you need to get your hands on a few bows and shoot them to see what fits best.
Cheers
ok cheers nice looking bow
