i'm new to archery and am trying to tune my bow for broadheads.
i shoot an alpine 55ld, 29" draw length with easton gamegetter xx75 2315. i shoot finger release with a finger tab, have a peep sight with pins set at upto 20m, 30m and 40m.rest is a nap centerest. i have satellite 125gr 3 blade removable broadheads.
i'm having great difficulty getting my arrows to go where i want them to go. it's great with field points in but as soon as i change they go all over the place. have read up on this site and tried multiple things mentioned like moving my rest and it works for a few shots but then it just goes to sh*t. i've been told to change to carbons as they'r easier to tune and more reliable. is this true?

any help would be greatly appreciated

I wouldn't say that carbons are easier to tune. The good thing about carbons is that they are either straight or busted. Alloys tend to bend but they are cheap...

About the erratic broadhead flight... You need to paper tune your bow. Once this is done, you SHOULD find that the broadheads will fly where you want them to. If your centreshot is out or your nocking point is too high/low (which is what paper tuning is all about), you will find that the broadhead will fight the fletching as soon as it leaves the bow. If this happens, your arrows will fly wherever they want - NOT where you point them.

Look up the ''Easton Tuning Guide". It's the bible of tuning.

Cheers,

Jase.

Do your field points and broadheads weigh the same?

they'r meant to. i came home this arvo and had a shoot and realised that my alpine doesn't like a closed hand grip. after altering this it has all worked out wonderfully and my broadheads are flying straight as. thanks for the help guys
