As last night was to windy to work i decided to go out to a property for a goat and deer hunt today and see what else i could find. My brother decided to come with me and follow me around with the video camera which was good of him. It was a last minute thing and i just chucked a few new thunderhead 3 blade broadheads on my arrows and seeing as they are 125 grain the same as my supremes i thought they would shoot the same. On the first mob of goats i shot over a nice little billy and i knew my shot was good. I followed the mob up and aimed low on a young white billy and smashed him in the shoulders not quite going through which is a change with the 80# tribute. I then lined up small black billy from 20m aimed low again and sent an angling shot through him. I gave him another to speed up the process.

It was obvious that these heads were shooting a good 7 inches higher than the other heads i use so the shots were going to have to be close the rest of the day. But i was pretty impressed with the entry and exit holes of the 3 blade heads.
It wasn't long and we were onto a patch of rabbits and i had a couple shots from about 30m but only managed to loose an arrow.

After a bit of a search i found another mob of goats and we stalked in to about 30m from them. We sat off the unaware goats for a good 20 mins watching them and getting some footage.

There was a nice young white goat with half decent horns i decided to leave to grow and after a while we slowly snuck in on my chosen billy. There was a roo in amongst the mob of goats that watched our way a few times so the stalking was pretty tricky not to send him barreling through the mob but in the end i got to about 8m from my target.

I lined him up with my pin on the top of his heart and double lunged him with a thunderhead. He ran over the rise and jumped up on the stump of a fallen tree before expiring hanging off the tree's exposed roots. so i set him up for a photo where he fell.

After photo's and video we walked down towards the water to see if we could find any deer around the plum tree's on the way i spotted a fox feeding on a roo carcass. Great i thought my best chance at a fox and my sights were out. I snuck in to about 16m and on camera litterally took furr off the top of his shoulder. Close but not close enough. Only another 200m and i spotted another young fox walking along the hill face to my left. I drew back and gave a few squeeks turning him quickly and he bounded in towards us. Dylan with the camera rolling on him watched me shoot about 3 inches over his head. I'll be taking the time to line my bow in properly next time. We made it down the water and saw a doe and a fawn but we didn't really get in there early enough to see any real deer numbers.

It was still a fun day in the sun and i filmed and passed up another 4 billies on the way out stalking into under 20 on all of them. I'll be getting some flash new broadheads from gecko Archery soon and i'll be back to try them out before i really hit the deer hard this year.
