Any one know any thing about these? When they will be available in Australia? Distributor? How do they compare to the Explorist XL?

Sales rep told me a week and a half ago that they should be in stores within a month.
He had some demo models that I was able to play with and they are very good with lots of upgrades from the Explorist range.
There are three series within the Triton range available: 1st series have no sd card compatability like the Explorist 100-300s and the 2nd and 3rd series do.
The 3rd series has a few toss features like led torch and camera and is meant to be the upgrade of the Explorist XL. Its very good and is the top of the range, but I don't like the camera and torch etc.
The 2nd series, the Triton 400 and 500, would be the ones to look at for serious hikers and hunters. They are like the 600 Explorist with upgraded everything but with out the toss features. They have upgraded software, hardware and the screen resolution is fantastic.

As for the distributor, Next Destination is the Australian distributor, check out their website for the retail stores they supply to. But anyone who sells Magellan will obviously be selling the new Tritons.
