Hey guys,

I have been bowhunting for just over a year now and thought it was about time i shared some of my hunts. Ill start with my first goat hunt that happened just last week. We (fallowhunter and I) headed off to a property in far western NSW hoping to get a few goats. We arrived late in the afternoon and set up camp before it was too dark to do anything.
The next morning we walked about 300m before i spotted a few goats standing on a fallen log about 70m away. So i slipped off my shoes and put on a stalk into 30m. They then spotted me and starred me down for at least 15 minutes untill i was able to get a great shot at this nice billy...

This was my first billy and i was punchin the air as it was down in 25 metres.
Was'nt long after that, we came across a nanny chewing its cud, sitting under a tree escaping the afternoon heat. Again slipped off the shoes and sneaked into 15m, before slippin one through her heart.

About 15 minutes later we came across some big billies which spotted us 40m away and moved off into some thick scrub...

The next morning we seen a couple of billies about 300m away from on top of a hill. We got into 35m from a black billy and to my suprise a feral cat strolled straight between me and the billy. I was tempted to shot it but i really wanted another billy..

Just after the cat had gone out of sight i got into 20m and took my shot. The shot went a little low but must have done enough damage because he only ran 30m.

I took the skin and horns from my first goat, the meat from the nanny and the horns and skull from the black billy for a euro mount. It was a quick and sucessfull hunt and i was very happy with my first 3 goats.

a good hunter would have shot the cat, bounced the arrow off a tree limb and then straight into the goats shoulders.

lol, but well done on the goats

well done on the goats brad, considering the time spent hunting was limited, you done all right.

It`s a tough decision sometimes when more than one animal presents it self during a stalk, but you stuck to the original plan and nailed the billy. I`m pretty sure the reason being is that a goat is a much bigger target than a cat.:P

Great effort on the goats mate, but i too would have taken the cat, 2 reasons, firstly, they are one of the worst predators in the bush, secondly, they are few and far between, compared to goats that is. Anyway well done on your goats. Thats just my opinion.
