hey guys
a day hunting on sunday is a day well spent.
howie picked me up at 5.30 and we made our way out to a property that has a few foxes and rabbits around. half way up the drive way we spooked a nice fallow spiker with hard antlers that hung round for a bit at 50 yards.
not long after we got in our camo clothes and had a practice whistle but nothing turned up.
after doing a bit of walking howie found a rabbit but missed it from 25 yards but that sometimes happens. 50m from the rabbit found us a nice fox jumping round on grasshoppers so we quickly got into position ready for a blow on the whistle. the fox ran straight in and was taken from 10 yards with a stilleto which made a massive entry wound.
the first fox and howie holding a great trophy

a rabbit each later had us on a high as we were shooting well and could tell it was going to be a top day. it was my turn to miss tho and stuffed a shot at a bunnie.howie took the 2nd ever rabbit with a new prototype blunt which was devasting. i am sure you will here more of these blunts in the future

just 70 yards from were howie shot a rabbit had another fox snooping round for some hoppers in the blackberry's. it was my turn to shoot and so howie got the video camera in position. a quick blow and the fox was charging in. in no time i had the arrow through the fox and was pleased to say the least to take my 2nd fox.

another 200 yards we stopped for a whistle. 1 fox came in so fast we both did not have time to get ready and so survived the close confrontation. just minutes later another fox came from the exact same direction but this one was a little smarter. it stopped well before howie could get a shot in.

we walked to another spot and whistled around the area. 3 foxes came in but all got a whiff of us or spotted us before a shot could be taken. a feral cat was also spotted but made it to cover
after getting back to the car we set off again in search of a few more foxes. it was howies turn and at the 2nd spot saw a nice dog fox run in from 70 yards. it stopped at 20 yards and a great shot was taken by howie.
pics below. sorry about the graphic pic it shows what damage the stilleto 2'' cut can do. no fox made it out of sight.

time had run out and so we set off home after another last whistle. it was a great day with 9 foxes coming in, many rabbits seen, a cat and a fallow spiker.
also thanks to the expert whistler howie. without him i would have been shooting stumps
