Went on my usual sunday monring bunny collection with my mate Swifty this weekend, only problem I had was a wounded leg from a cheetah at work, so instead of walking and stalking I sat in a pile of fallen logs and put the fox whistle to work. I called one up but about 15 metres away he turned and did the bolt, my guess is he smelt me in a very light wind drift. Oh well Ill get him next weekend or during the week. Swifty came back with 3 bunnies (the weekly quota for snake feeds at the zoo where I work), so we headed home. Some quiet morning refreshments and Swifty had to go. I went inside to get changed and saw a regular sight from my bedroom window, a small bunny on my range at my 40m target. The missus was away in Sydney so I could take any shot I wanted (not cause she doesnt let me shoot, but the shot is usually across the bed of which she highly disaproves of.....well OK).

The range finder said 36 metres, I had all the time in the world to take the shot as the bunny had not even suspected me in the window. I divided the 30m and 40m site pins held steady on the kill zone and let him have it. I startled his buddy who was sitting behind the target at the time and he came to sit in almost the same spot as the first one. I nocked another arrow and let him have it. Two bunnies from the bedroom, in less than a minute.

This morning was the same story as above. The missus left for work and again there was a bunny sitting by my goat target at 20 metres

Another silly bunny

I went into my room and grabbed my bow to return to no bunny. I went to make a cuppa and returned to see the bunny in the same spot. I grabbed my bow, nocked an arrow and put the 20m pin on its head, let the shot go to see my arrow hit the little fella fair in the head.

Two of my favorite targets

I had a similar episode a couple of months back when I was shooting at my 30m target when a hare ran out of some nearby bushes and sat right in front of the targer I was shooting at, so I let him have it as well.

I will put another post up soon and go through the steps to making the targets I use. the boxes only cost me about $3.00 each and the ply animal cut outs only about $10.00 each.

I am very fortunate to live where I do and have plenty of static and live targets to shoot, right in my backyard......happy days. Buy for now

Mate....you work in a zoo, have a house surrounded by targets and shoot critters from your bedroom. You could possibly be the luckiest man in the world!!!!

I am VERY keen to learn a bit more about your target set-up when you get a chance.
