Well I don’t know if anybody on here has the same luck as me, but at the moment all the game is coming to me instead of me coming after them.
SO HERE ARE MY NEW SERIES of STORIES; “IM SO LUCKY IM UNLUCKY!!”

As some may know I live in the Adelaide hills and am a junior bow hunter/fisher, I hunt the usual small game; rabbits foxes ect… well on with the stories..

Chapter one; please turn around so i can shoot you :D,

Today after school I headed down the back to tune in some of my bear razor heads on my broadhead target, after that I got my hunting gear packed for a little hunt in the forest (eucalyptus forest), got all saddled up and moved off, after about 1km of walking form home I reached the forests edge. As quietly as possible I jumped the gate, and set off tip towing my way through the dry thick forest. The wind was quite strong being really helpful seeing as it was so dry covering nearly all the noise I made, after about a one hundred metre stretch through I spotted the first hare twenty metres in front digging in front of a tree, I thought to my self this could be quiet the successful stalk seeing as at the time the wind was in my face and I had some good cover.. well it was not to be as another local hare decided to come out and fight him, I watched as they scurried away, i found it quite funny watching them doing so but quite disappointed that they had left, but on the good side they had know idea I was there so didn’t do anything wrong, I kept walking along till I nearly trod on another hare, I don’t know I didn’t see him seeing as he was as big as dog!! After watching him run off, making sure he didn’t turn and come back witch funnily enough they actually do sometimes. I headed on my way till I found my destination spot (prime spot for hares and rabbits) and I moved to my quietist I herd something/something’s pelting along the trail before I know it there are three rabbits about one metre in front of me playing, after watching them, not budging a single bit, they settled down feeding (still a metre in front) I could not draw the bow because they were all facing my direction, I was hoping they would come a bit closer so they could meet my right boot :P, but it wasn’t to be.. the wind swirled and they were off… after that it was nearly dark and I didn’t see anything on my way home… but atleast my stalking is improving and my camo works:), I feel lucky that they were so close to me yet so far from an arrow at full draw,
Theres always next time, and hopefully next time im not so lucky im unlucky;)
thanks for reading
kind regards jono hughes
