i took this goat on 30/10/07. as i wasn't a member just thought i'd post some pics of it. it was my first billy taken with a bow and my first kill ever.
i saw him and another billy in the bottom of one of our paddocks at home. i stalked in to about 20 metres nervous as all hell and wondering how well my auscam camo was working. they were both eating away happily and unaware of my presence. i stood up from amongst the hawthorn, drew and released. my shot was too low and hit the ground at their feet. they spooked and ran 10 metres before stopping and continuing eating. the bigger horned billy turned side on to me and i drew, settled the 30 metre pin and let loose.
well the shot wasn't all that well placed but he did a very high kick and went for the gully. i ran home to get a torch as it was nearly dark and returned to find massive amounts of blood on the ground. easy blood trail and 20 metres later found him up against some rocks.
went to work the next day and came home to get some pics. on further inspection i hit him in the throat and sliced his jugular and wind pipe. so at least he died quickly.

his freind is currently growing his horns and when they are large enough or he gets too close to our nursery i'll hopefully have another set.
