After doing a fair bit of practice on a target out the back , i was shooting reasonably good groups at 10 and 15 meters. So off I went to my oldies place to try and nail a bunny.
I spied one sitting along the edge of a row of little bushes and started my stalk.Everything went to plan and I soon found myself kneeling down only 10 meters from him.I was tucked up behind a little bush and knew he would still be there at the other end so I drew back and ever so slowly I moved out to my left.
Well he saw my movement and before i could release he was off.So I backed off and watched him run safely into cover.
It was now that i realised that i was shaking like a leaf I dont know why It was just like lining up a good stag with the rifle.Ive shot 100s maybe even 1000s of rabbits in my lifetime but nothing compared to this and I didnt even take the shot. .IM HOOKED!

it's great isnt it! well when you say that you have lots of experience hunting with firearmes but you were still shaking; how many times have you been that close to an animal? and the fact that you have to draw your bow back as aposed to just squeezing a triger gaves you alot less chance of success and makes you a ***** load more shakey.
If you liked that then you've got a hell of a lot more coming for ya;)

I always try and get as close as i can to my animals mate and this is the reason for getting the bow.My last Rusa stag was shot from only 7 meters. The feeling I got last week was like my first ever rabbit over 20 years ago!
hahahahah buck fever on a bloody bunny.
