Well, its 8:47pm. I gotta get up at 2:30 to go for a hunt... Can't sleep.

So I packed everything ready to go, and I'm amazed at how much **** I'm actually taking. Considering its my first time, I didn't want to "over-do" it with accessories.

So I've packed:

Bow
Hip Quiver
3 BH's
3 Bludgeons
Bino's
Digital Camera (if we actually get anything) lol
Knife (pocket/skinner in hip holster)
Mobile (just get reception at top of hill (emergency if needed) Plus it will do GPS when the GPS receiver arrives.
Button Whistle

First aid kit is on-site.

I don't like carrying a backpack, whenever I go anywhere, so I am trying to attatch everything to my pants/belt.

So my question is: What do you take, and how do you pack it when you go hunting. Mind you, this is only a 200 acre block, so no long walks required. Or a cut lunch. lol

Cheers

I like my backpack as I'd rather have my first aid kit with me (rather then at the house or car) as well as having the 2lt water bladder in it to even if only on a 200-300 acre place your made not having both water and first aid kit with you. What happens if you get bitten by a snake:eek:

For small hunts like your going/gone on I dont' take much more then you have.
But for me I'd want to take a couple of extra BH's
I'm asuming that you've got a 6 arrow hip quiver, I'd rather have 5 BH's & 1 blunt.

Oh yeah and I gotta have some food with me no matter how small the place is I'm hunting.

But hey that's just me.

i found that the best type of food to take with me is scroggum. it is basicaly heaps of nuts and dried fruit tossed into a bag and shaken. it provides quick energy and some vitamins i learnt this while hiking in the victorian high country. (note: dont try to live off this stuff as you will get the runs)

on the equipment side of things, i am with Hood, i prefer BH's but also some blunts as pigeon makes a good snack and BH's like to mutilate my lunch.
ALWAYS TAKE WATER!!! you never know how long you will be out there.

anyway thats my 2cents worth
