i recently found a deer by itself at a property i hunt ocassionally. its over 20 klms from the main deer population in the area. it was lame in one front leg. what i want to know is whether deer from the mob have forced this deer away because of its bad leg or would there be other deer in the area??
cheers guys for any info

there will be other deer there somewhere. I would think that the only reason you even saw this one was because of his injury.

The deer will not push out an injured animal, there is no advantage to this, in fact the advantage of having the injured animal amongst your herd is plain to see. If the herd is attacked then the herd runs, and who do you think gets eaten?
