todays afternoon hunt with howie started at around 5 with howie picking me up. we made our way to the property which is a quick drive from bathurst. the previous week howie shot 4 rabbits and so this week we were confident a rabbit or 2 were not far away.
instead we did it hard only seeing a few rabbits in the few hours we were there. but still i managed to shoot a physically disabled rabbit but atleast it was mentally stable and so still counted as a fair kill lol.

we both had a few more shots but things were not our way. howie nailed a bunny from 48yards with an awsome shot and after following a blood trail and tracking the rabbit we found him just 10 yards away hiding next to a rock. again the vb's worked thier stuff with both rabbits.

with a couple of rabbits in the bag the afternoon was looking okay. we were just about to pack up and head home when howie said lets have a whistle at one of the creeks. he left his bow and i took mine with the 1 broadhead i had. over the past few months we had whistled that area a few times but nothing came up. anyway after a minute of whistling howie wispered hard right. i slowly turned to see a fox staring at 40 yards. howie was very quietly getting the camera ready and i was just about to draw when i heard something behind me. i glanced round to see a fox at 10 yards and straight away drew the bow. howie was unaware of this fox as he was facing the opposite direction and was playing with the video camera. i released and smacked the fox good and it went only a few yards. howie turned round to see a dead fox. at this time there was still a fox at 40yards walking round and another big fox running in and was at 40 yards. the times when you wish you had more than 1 broadhead aye.
