i got my first goat out hunting with Rob H a while back and he has been buggin me to put it up so here it is with a little story to go along with it.
Rob picked me up about 9 so it was a late start to the day but we headed out at his property and drove along the old track untill we reached a nice spot the park the ute. We headed up a hill that had recently been known to have a large mob on it so we crept up the hill and spoted a small mob with a billy with a funny set of horns, they curved back almost like a merino sheep:o.We cirled around the other side of the hill as the wind was not in out favour and we came straight down on him and a few small nannys. We stalked down on the billy to about 40m and he walked off to go find the rest of the mob:( leaving the bedded down nannys for us to look after:D i stalked in to 20m and took a shot on a young nanny it jumped to its feet and walked to 30m so i had a follow up shot and it was down for the count:cool: talk about having a smile on my face i downed my first goat. the rest of the day was long and hot with us walking a long way through the hills and scrub with nothin but a small boar found in the weeds along the river when it ran off as we walked through:(. It was a great hunt with a good mate and a lot of ground covered. Hope you liked it that was my first story and first goat downed.
