TOWER*2007

This Sunday I went back out in search of a couple of large billies I saw the previous weekend. Worse thing was I lost the biggest horned billy I have ever seen that is no doubt dead somewhere and I cant find him.
Later I took another shot at a goat which happened to hit a strand of wire in front of it and it missed completely.
I was annoyed all week at what happened so I had to get back on the horse and try to rekindle myself.
My mate rolled up at my house not looking too flash and after leaving my driveway we made it 50m up the road where he proceeded to spew out the car door for the first time in front of neighbours, great start. I confirmed he still wanted to go and he said yes, so we progressed. Later after walking around some big hills he sprewed 7 more times, but thats another story.
After arriving at the spot we crossed a deep gully and onto the other ridge. Straight away I got a strong waft of stinkie goat. My mate and I walked 50m upwind and looked over the edge of the hill and saw a long line of various size goats wandering into the paddock below us.
I sent my mate ahead to try and get in front further up the gully and I sat back on the tail end of the mob. Sometime later I saw him stalk down and hit a large brown and white billy causing the rest of the mob to return toward me.
My timing and position was great and i ended up behind a tree right in line of where the mob was heading. Soon after the mob saundered to within 10-20m of me. I searched through the mob of about 30 goats looking for the biggest horns.
One of the top biggest 4 goats in the mob was visible about 20m away, although he was partially obscured by other goats. There were no other goats behind him to risk hitting after a pass through so I chose him.
Another younger billy was facing his direction and my only shot was to aim between the horns of the younger goat to hit the bigger one in the right spot.
The shot went well to my suprise and he didnt go too far.
We tried following up on my mates one but he was out of sight. While looking for that one my mate did manage to score himself another younger billy.
My goat didnt have big horns like the previous one I lost, but he was a decent one anyway, Ill keep searching for the two monsters that got away. It was a pretty easy hunt we didnt have to look very far before we stumbled across them.
thanks for reading.
