what a afternoon, myself and hunt or be hunted went out for a look for a goat. After driving to our new spot, we got out and walked about 3km to where we thought the goats would be coming out of the bush to feed in the open paddock. At first we sat and waited overlooking a flat open area. after about half hour we decided we might stalk around the hills on the edge of the forest and maybe find some sign. after walking for what seemed ages (fairly hilly) we heard what we thought were goats off in the distance. after stalking in over 2 ridges we were walking along and dan spotted some goats feeding off the edge of the plateau. We could see a few mobs, some a little further down so it was decided id try for the first mob. after a fair stalk i finally got to 30mtrs of a solid looking goat. I slowly stood up and drew back, sat my 30mtr pin just behind his shoulder and touched off the release. the shot looked good, but as he ran off i could see id hit a bone. after letting them settle i tried to get another shot in, and did but for some reason the broadhead may have not been sharpened properly or maybe my nerves got the better of me and it hit a little far back. once again we had to stalk in on them, the next shot was better and he didnt get far and dropped where we placed one more shot just to make sure. it was geting a little late at this time so we decided to call it a night and go back shortly so dan can get his first goat. Id like to post a big thank you to dan for sharing his spot with me and letting me take this goat. i cant wait to hopefully film him taking his first goat.

Good story Tom. no worries, thanks for taking me out, it was an awesome afternoon. he is an awesome first goat, really well done. it was a pleasure to be there when you got your first with the bow.

here is a short movie of the footage i took of tom stalking his goat and a little more, unfortunatly i couldn't see tom when he was shooting so i didn't get the hit on film.

i made a better movie with music and stuff bit its not uploading so this will have to do

Just read your post and was gunna say around the 30 mark, very well done especially for a first and in the current situation with goats being rounded up for market, even a 30 is a good find let alone the almost elusive 40". Congrats
