View Full Version : 1st trad kill
well i have just taken my 1st trad kill and a fair lump of a boar at that. it was a 1 arrow kill from about 18m. i am so stoked. i have had the bow since xmas eve and have shot it 3-4 days a week ever since. its a raven take down hunter custom made by Dave Keble. i shot it with a tusker javelin on a 2117 and got a full pass through. he died on the spot. heres a few pics of the boar and i will post a few of the bow on the trad bow talk section. cheers
as u can see it was raining........ made it hard to get good pics

its just that bit harder with the trad gear eh and a very rewarding feeling
Nice looking bow whats one of them worth?

Jeff
jeffo i am still pumped and its been 4hours since i got him!! dave is asking around the $1000 - $1200 for them depending on wat u want. a bow like mine with the bamboo limbs would be in the higher bracket he can do antler tips as well. he has a few getting around with silver ash that he is also vey happy with.
Nice one Cooke, What a start for the recurve. Look forward to seeing some more!
Good on ya Bud Well done on the first trad kill

Congrats on your first trad kill , thats a good size hog to open the books with.
Good one Cooke, I am sure there will be plenty more to follow...Glenn...
just orderd another 2 doz arrows for the curve will do most of my hunting with it this year while in the NT. thanks guys
Only 2 doz Cooke, that would only be enough ammo for a week in Darwin wouldn't it;)...Glenn...
yer the way i shoot it isnt...... not getting many shots out of an arrow at the moment. getting there though and hopefuly when i get these new shafts all made up and the bow tuned to em i should be nearl there. mustn't be to far off cause i cant remember anything of the shot exept drawing back and pick the spot and then the whack!
Great feeling hey cooke, good on ya mate and plenty to come no dout
