I have a fred bear element 60-70lb bow. my shoulder is a bit crook and i want to get it as close to 60lb as i can. is there a way i can without using a special scale?

By backing the limb bolts out (NO MORE THAN 5 TURNS) you will be close to 60lbs.
Without a scale though you wont know the poundage for sure...

Bill,
It varies a little between manufacturers, but its been my experience that one full turn of the limb bolts, usually equals about four to five pounds.

I would have thought roughly about 2-3lb a turn, and as woody said some manufacturers might be different, also as Bill stated don't turn down too many turns, this might tend to make things interesting:P
