Work experience!! anyone a park ranger??

hey there i have to work experience for school and i am really looking to be a park ranger up the flinders way or along the vic border :D, i was wondering whether anyone would take me in :P,

I did work experience with a ranger last year. It was good fun, we were trapping feral cats and stuff like that

i applyed to do it but they knocked me back unfortunaly. instead i did 1 week doing phsio, radiology and pathalogy and then 1 week at the csiro

Cant help you mate But I did do work experience as a park ranger when I was a lad. Good on you for choosing this field mate, I think you will find there is a lot more to a ranger's day to day tasks than meets the eye. A great career to aspire to if you ask me. Good luck with your search. You should be getting your school to start sending letters out to the nearest parks I spose.

Ring the local council in the area they should be able to help or point u in the right direction.

i did work experience with a ranger to. all i did was go into my local dnre office.

I did a weeks work experiance with a ranger, all i did was cut wood rake gravel and clean the compground toilets. so never even got to look at when he actually did, just the groundsman around the headquarters and nat park. So guess what i do now hahaha i'm a roo shooter!

I know a ranger up here in the flinders who is a really great bloke. Has heaps of goats on his property too :D Its 3.5 hours drive from adelaide let me know if you need any help i could ask if he takes work experiance ppls.

mate try your local DSE, im doing work experience with them this year, and you get to do different thing every day

first day is park ranger
second day you get to work with the fire section of DSE (last year they went up in a chopper :))
therd day i get to work down at the desalination plant and area around that
fouth day is mostly on flora and fauna in nationals parks
and fifth day is mostly about native vegetation.

sounds awesome to me coz you get to try all whole range of jobs under the one branch...

give them a call because they should have a few spots (fill quickly though)

I reckon fisheries would be a good job, gives you the option of coast or bush and feral animals need to drink water.
