For Those Who Havent Being Following My Saga
I Sold My 80lb Tribute (left Hand) 3weeks Ago Because Of
An Old Shoulder Inguery (nerve Damage)
AND Bought A 225lb 319fps Eumomax Crossie For Hunting.
But To Day I Had A Chat With A Bow Shop In The States
Who ClaimED That The Pse X,force Bows Have The Ability
To Shoot Faster And Harder For A Given Poundage
IE
A 60lb Bow Will Shoot As Fast And As Hard As A 70 Lb Of An Other Make
Is There Any Throuth In This Statment
As I Could Just Get Away With A 60 Lb Bow
Mate a 60 pnd bow of any brand will kill almost anything in Oz anyways ;) It doesn't have to be super duper on steroids X-force :P

Your Dead On With That Comment Mate
Trouble Is When I Was A Rifle Shooter Got A Shot Out Of A
50 Cal Bmg
I May Have A Problem Ha Ha Ha
Sorry dude, I'm confused...
I mean, if you're able to pull 60pbs, then any 60 pb bow will do the job (perhaps unless you're after buff).
If you're not able to pull 60 pbs at all, then there's nothing wrong with 50... I've taken a lot of my game with my 50pbs compound. ;)
Good luck either way. :D

i can pull 65pnd on my bow , and i only weigh 55 kilos lol
Arr you want a bow thats like the .50cal bmg haha, good luck... ;)
There is this lady bowhunter from a few years back who use to go to africa with her 40-45 pound recurve and use to harvest a lot of african game animals. Look in the bowhunting mags and you see kids shooting pigs etc with like 40 pounds.
As luke said there is nothing wrong with 50 pounds and with the cams etc on the bows out today it will feel like pulling thin air. Plus it will have a power to down alot of game. Its all about shot placement...

I tend to agree with what the rest have said. 60 pounds will get the job done in most instances. I also understand what you are saying. There's nothing like pulling 80 pounds and having your arrow fly fast and flat. Especially if you're capable! The KE involved with such draw weights is incredible (but not necessary).
As for the X-force, it is an awesome bow. Yes, you can get faster speeds from lower draw weights. I shot one set at 64 pounds. I was shooting a 385 grain arrow. I clocked that arrow at 304 feet per second. Not too many bows with much higher draw weights are capable of this these speeds. Since KE is a product of the square of the velocity, the faster the bow the higher the KE.
I would recommend you shoot one first. Make sure it fits before you sink money into it. They are sweet bows. If you want, I have a mate who can get you an X-Force just over dealer's cost +shipping (from the States).
Yes a 60# X-F will push out numbers similar to most other 70# bows....was going to offer you a shot of mine..then I noted your whereabouts...tell you what If you cover the costs!!....:P:P

you might find a 60 more pleasant to hunt with as you can hold at full draw for longer. i am shooting 500g arrows at 62lb at the moment and have not had any trouble with penetration at all. a 50lb would still knock down most

I think I mentioned this to you previously, my 9 year old son shot a nanny with his 25 pound compound, little knitting needle arrows and got complete arrow penetration. I can pull this bow to draw with my pinky finger. Its not about poundage or speed, its about putting the right arrow in the right spot.

best wishes on that mate
I would look into the draw cycles of bows, especially speed bows with lower brace heights and hard cams. Sometimes things have to be sacrificed to get speed. shoot a few and see for yourself.
If I had a similar injury, I would look at a smooth wheeled bow, easy to draw and shoot.
Read the treads and analysis what the guys are saying to you, 50 pounds is heaps, with your bad shoulder why would you think 60 and more???????????

do you no what the exercises were???
it was on excercise machines (ie you have to own them or have a gym membership) and its a machine where you sit down , select your weight on the machine and pull it towards you , then you push it back in. another one you are pushing weight forward, then releasing it back towards you . i work in a job where i will sometimes have to push ten sheep carcasses about 10meters at a time along a rail as well (sheep carcass = 30 to 50 kgs) but lifting weights and possibly some endurance training will help . when i`m doing feild archery my bow is set to 40-45lb as i beleive this is all you need for feild archery . if i was going to go out hunting i`d turn it up to 60-65lb. things you can do for free; push ups , pullups . sit ups . these can be done at your local park for nothing.
