Anyway a short story, IÃ*ve been chasing these two boars for last two weeks, and today (Friday) I ventured down my favoured goat place (didnÃ*t see any goats, but saw 20 odd pigs) and I found one of the big boars still chasing the same group of sows around, I spotted them some 300 metres below me and stared the difficult task of making my was down to them though some very steep and lose country to have a go at them. As I reached the bottom of most of the bad stuff, it flattens a little and the wind was being fickle, I manage to walk straight on the second boar I had seen from last week, just lying on the side on the hill, fast asleep at 5 metres! I quickly knocked and arrow and drew, ancored, as IÃ*m sure the wind was blowing straight at him and I expected him just to explode right out of there any second, I guess what, yep I stuffed it, there was a medium size rock right on his chest but if I had taken my time there was plenty of room for the arrow to pass over it and I rushed it, idiot I said to my self and yep I nailed that rock dead on, pigs 1. Pete 0!
As he ran around the corner and out of sight, I was some 200 metres from the group that I started to hunt first, as I made my way down to where I thought they where, I positioned my self where I thought they had gone, but I was a little off to one side of a small Plato, so I had a quick side step back to the other side of the Plato, and found five sows feeding, and I could see the big boar coming to them, so I decide to get a little closer as I didnÃ*t want the steep angle of the bank to obscure the shot, mistake number two for the day, as the boar was moving so fast he saw me take that extra step, and bang I was busted he turned and exited stage left at grate rate, so I despatched one sow, and I started to curse myself on how crap a hunter and rock shooter I was today (donÃ*t tell Luke anyone!) So pig's 2 Pete 1 plus one rock and 2 destroyed arrows!

I was just about on the river so I made my way around the steep hillside and the ridge line going down and started my long walk home, glassing all the as much area as possible trying to locate the 115 Plus goat I had run into 2 weeks ago, but the wind gave me up three times that week, and I havenÃ*t been able to locate him since, must have gotten the picture after the 6 week ordeal that ended the life of his 126 point mate some 8 months back, that heÃ*s got the message, donÃ*t play with this guy heÃ*s persistent!
I though I could be lucky and find more pigs at the top on the way out, since there was plenty of fresh digging I saw as I walked I today, and now it was the right time of day, and luck would have it, just about 50 metres from the top I shot anther sow, that I thought was a boar in the low light. So at the end of the day the score was just about even I guess, well not really there only sows, but the county you have to get them out of is very difficult to say the least.
