For anybody that has added the user DEK or who unwittingly has allowed the user DEK to add them to MSN Messenger, delete him immediately fro all points of contact!!! His computer has been infected with a Trojan Horse backdoor malicious virus. I fortunately have great firewall and frontline protection, but just in case, I thought I would warn you.

His email address is archeryoz@hotmail.com.

Be aware, this is not a hoax as I am not in the business of spreading gossip. His computer tries to access mine through messenger (and hotmail) by sending picture attachments for you to open (in .ZIP format), when scanned with a virus checker, it is apparent the enclosed file is a DOS application.

Forewarned is forearmed.

Cheers

Kris

That's me, The problem is I didnt know I have it, and you dont know its being sent from this end.
Using spybot and hopefully its removed it as it said it has. hence im not adding anyone or intianally sending it.

If you know how to get rid of this if hasnt already, please let me know

Sorry to those involved

Not a worry, just had to let people know, as this is obviously where it has occurred. ;-).

As for getting rid of it, do a search for AVG Anti-Virus (Free Edition) and install it. Get rid of all your other virus checkers as this is the best. It updates instantly and blocks this type of intrusion.

Hope that helps.

dont agree there mate advast is just as good for a free antivirus soft where. where as for paid soft where NOD32 is the best of the best by a long shot, after 5 years of having it installed only contracted 1 virus ( my fault was playing with settings and turned off automatic update )

It's a very common virus with msn at the moment i have about 8 people in my msn that has it, just dont accept any .zip files.

It is also a poorly made virus and there are many help files out there on how to get rid of it.

Cheers SG.
