There was a thred on TBHGoA2 about you hunting vehicles.
Thought I would resurrect it with a pictire of the Yamaha Quad that I use to get into my hunting areas.

This is a Yamaha Big Bear 350cc.
Great for getting gear into, and game out of, rugged country.
Not mine as the owner of the property I hunt on lends it to me whenever I need it.
Show me what you got.

i either walk ( most of the time ) or take a quad , sometimes even take out our pigrig ( suzuki siara ).
sorry no pics :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
If I don't walk I normally take a push bike, would mind something more comfortable out on the bumpy black soil as you get a sore arse after a few days...Glenn...
I get around in these beauties. high4x4 and low4x4

Some of you guys must have it good to be able to walk or ride a bike into your hunting areas.
To walk to my first hunting area, on the high country property, would take about two hours uphill from where I park the car.
The second area would take three hours, the third about four and a half and the fourth spot about six hours.
This is to where I start my stalks which can take up to four hours.
Not much chance of walking to them before sunrise.
Man, I wish I lived in your areas.
This is my rig. It doesn't go hunting as much as it used to as I'm setting it up for Winch style comps.
It is a GQ Nissan Patrol SWB Diesel. I'm running 34x11.5x16 Simex Jungle Trekker 2 tyres. These pick's are about a year old so she's got a couple more mods now and no more P's!

Hot rig kane.
Warlocke, it depends on where i hunt out west red soil its drive ride and walk.
The mountains I hunt in the hunting starts from the car so you can't moto in any further as you only spook game so its by foot.
My biggest walk to game is a good 6hours to get there before first light you walk in during the night an rest up before first light. I haven't done that walk much as fatigue sets in on the way home from no sleep.
I think different country hold different difficulties eg thick scrub, highland, water, uneven landscape, etc.
Some country has to be crossed by foot. But its all enjoyable with the right attitude and the harder the hunt the more I feel I've deserved taking an animal with the bow.
Go the death march!!!! :D

If I had to walk more than 2 hours to get to the stalk I would camp closer
Where I go to hunt fallow you can camp right among them and you walk less than 500 mtrs to get into the thick of it. I had a go with the bow on Sun after the ice box was full and I got to within 30 mtrs of a nice little doe but there was no chance for a shot and as she moved around me she eventualy ended up down wind with predictable results :D This was all within 300 mtrs of our camp.
Must of my hunting starts from camp as many here that went on the tbga group hunts would know, Game lives in camp. Most places I hunt for a day the hunting starts from the truck. But ocassionly I have to hike camp in to get to the best spots or do that extra big walk during the night to get to the hot spots all good and fun I reckon. There's something about walking in the dark in boar country that really gets me off

While in NZ for the last week I had some fun hooning around on a quad, boy did I have some fun. And nearlly **at my self when at 70clicks I become airbourne but loved every minute of it.
Those quads are really worth the money in the rough and mud and steep hills I tell ya. When I get a small property I'm definatly getting one.

Wouldn't have taken my Harley out bush before I sold it.
Although I did a few trips to Geehi on the Harley back in the early eighties.
Interesting watching twenty Harleys riding through the Lightning Creek heading for the hut dodging rocks.

Don't camo your quad it just makes it harder to find. I know I've lost mine twice even with the blaze orange flag eight feet in the air( grass was nine feet high).
