A few words of encouragement if I may...

I've had a fair bit of game get away from me before I could get close enough for a shot (<44 yards). That was before I rigged this up. I know we bowhunters like to stalk close but sometimes having the confidence to take the shot from a distance is a welcome option, and can mean the difference between a successful hunt and a bit of fun in the bush with the bow.

With this setup you can range a deer at +60 yards accurate to a yard +/-, adjust the telescopic sight to the yard and take the shot with the FO illuminated vertical (lines up with legs nicely) pin on the vitals target looking like its <20 yards away through the sight!

You can confidently make clean one shot kills on fast game that spook easy, at ranges that might be beyond an unaided setup. Won't that make your hunting trips even more enjoyable; landing the stag after glassing it half a mile away and stalking in to 60 yards, or trying to get to 30 yards and having it run off before you get your shot?

Buy it or it could haunt you the next time you spook an awesome trophy (or tasty) critter by stalking too close.

Ok, lets see if we can free the rangefinder up for Bill. ;)

If anyone wants the setup or part of it, make an offer.
Will sell in parts if the bow, arrows and rest go as a minimum.

Cheers.

G'day.

I just wanted to clarify my promotion a bit for anyone a little confused by it. It seems I only alluded to why one would want to bow hunt beyond the 60m mark & how this is analogous to the common practise and sport of bow hunting we all know & love.

First let me say I also hunt bare bow with a 30+ year old 1 piece recurve & enjoy stalking or running hunts with just a knife with maybe a mate or dog to help. I find this is where I test my stealthiness and instinct the best. I figured if I can stalk to less than 20m with a bow, then what do I need the bow for? ;p

With the compound bow I like to get in close sometimes but also (mostly) like to test myself & archery gear at range or harvest something for meat for a group trip. I usually do this soon upon arrival so the meats got a day or two to hang and gets to be eaten by the group al fresco.

So in my mind the style of long range bow hunting I mentioned/practice is just putting the emphasis on the technical aspects of compound bow hunting, almost comparable to long range shooting with firearms. Or just getting a quick successful hunt in.

Hope that both satisfies any queries on the nature of such a setup & encourages those who wish to pursue ranged bow hunting to purchase this appropriately geared out bow. Although your more than welcome to enquire further if it doesn't.

Cheers.
