The wether man said it was going to be a good day so I got up early and went out to a local farm this morning to retune my compound and maybe have a hunt. After I finished tuning the bow and having a bit of a practice I decided to go for a walk along one of the ridges. I was having a good walk and enjoying just being out when I spied the resident goats on another ridge about a K away, sunning themselves, and I decided to have a go.
It took me 1 hour to get to where I saw them and sure enough the tricky buggers had moved on while I was getting to them.

I suppose thatÃ*s why its called ìhuntingî and not ìgettingî.

No dvd's yet mate, will let you know.

I got to go hunting with nortcom's brother Matt. We went hunting up on the flanks of Mt Tongariro at a property owned by some mates of Matt's. We also fished the area and caught some great trout.

I spent a bit over a week in my wifes home town and had a few walks with the bow but no real hunting. In the last couple of days there I got the offer to hunt a couple of properties there next time I am over. They seem to have lots of goats and want them dealt with but would rather they be used than left in a cull.
I saw heaps of deer in pens there and saw a few deer out in paddocks but out of reach. Also saw phesants.

It was a great trip and I think I will take the bow every time I visit from now on.

Remember where I collected the **** for coach to inspect, they were sunning themselves on the river side of the hill next to the road to the river (not the main road).
Their days are definatly numbered if they are going start to hanging around a lot more.
Maybe next friday you might like to come out and have a looksee?
