feather length

i have just got a 54# recurve what is the best length of feather to use for target shooting

Nev you could get many different answers to that question, but if you only going to shoot target then you could use 4" feathers whereas a hunting arrow you wold probably need to go to 5" feathers...Glenn...

ive always used a longbow so i got plenty of 5'' this is new to me

I reckon 3" is ok for target if you are using carbon shafts. Depends how you want to go in terms of arrows, arrow setup etc. 5" is usually the go for hunting wooden arrows.
