There are some works of art out there when it comes to knives.
Mine is just an off the shelf Diving knife I have had for years but it does the job out bush.

I have mine strapped to the waist strap on my pack for easy reach.

These knives are in my pack every hunt, except if it is real steep then I sometimes leave the big bowie behind.
I made them all myself so I get exactly what I want in a knife. :D

That is my most used knife too. It is made from RWL34 and I can field butcher and bone a whole deer and the thing will still shave my arm.
I shot this guy on Saturday to get him out of the mix (just look at this antlers  ) and after butchering him and a doe I could still shave my arm. I am in love with that knife, and with the Swedish steel. :D

coach your knifes are
top winchester
middle excal
bottom mmm usta have the same one.
Coach, picked up a knife thats identical as your bottom one about fifteen years ago out at Surat. Still have the knife and there is hardly any ware, no rust and holds an excellent edge. The bloke who lost it must have been pissed....Scott
i have a old custom hunter made by john jones. and a buck stockman i carry all the time. great bunch of knives guys.
I have found the diving knives better, as they are made for a harsh environment (salt water) and usually have rubber handles. They seem to retain their edge longer too.
I use to have one like Coach's bottom knife with the exception of the bone handle it was bound with leather instead but unfortunately some knobhead pinched it outa my car one night.
will post picks of other knives later.

Mine are a mixed bunch.
A United Cutlery medium tanto.
A hand made hunter by Mike Wilson with camelbone grips. <My favourite>
A skinner I made from a broken Wusthof Trident large cook's knife.
A Montana folder given to me by Adam after our first big hunt.
My Swiss Army knife that I've had for nearly 30 years.
A small neck knife made from a Red Deer tine and a Tusker broadhead.
A couple of throwers I made from some bar stock.
I usually take them all with me.

Tracker I have made a skinner just like yours out of one of my old chefs knives. With the exception that I have left the handle as is for now.
Do you find that the rope handle gets crap stuck in it ie. blood, fat, meat, grass seeds......?

Hood.. it's got a little sheath and it hangs from a cord round my neck.
It's sharpened like a saber.. along one edge and a third of the way back on the other side. I use it as a throat cutter. :D
My knife of 'last resort'.

Aheeee, the name "Tracker" appears to be a misnoma, "Magwa" (spelling?
) may be more appropriate  e
Thanks Tracker, will have a go at making one myself.
So it will be job number 346 on the list of to-do's. :(

These are a few of my hunting knives. The top one is a custom one built by a local bloke and I made the sheath.I won the knife in a raffle several years ago.I use the Gerber guthook knife the most and the small pocket knife for rabbits. The Old Timer hardly ever gets used anymore.
