hi guys
i bought a tom brown tracker knife recently and it came with a crappy kydex sheath that im not to happy with. So im planning on making my own leather sheath. I've had a look at the build alongs and found they were a great help. I was planning on making a sheath that sits on a horizontal axis across my back and i want to incorporate a pouch on it. i want to be able to fit my leatherman and a sharpening rod and if theirs room some first aid/survival gear for the just in case scenarios. Was wondering if anyone had any tips or ideas for me.
cheers i will post pics when i get started in months time roughly meanwhile heres a pic of the tom brown tracker and sheath

Have a look at this.

Something like that but completely different.

Tip
Really think about how you are going to make it. Do a "trial run" to work out what stages you are going to do (even making a paper pattern). The problem, without thinking it through you will have it half done and realize you have to pull it apart because you can't sew the pouch/loop on now,:mad:it should have been the first thing sewed on. (if that makes sense).

How are you finding the TOPS Tracker? I went close to buying myself one but in the end I stayed with my head and got the Fallkniven S1...Id be interested to hear what you think of the knife.

the tracker is great everytime i think im going to need another tool,ie axe saw etc, i give the tracker a go and its sweet. the only thing bad i guess is the weight. its a pretty heavy knife which makes it tough for the smaller jobs. But i practice whittling with it to get a little more handy with small jobs. and i know what u mean by using your head on the fallkniven $$$$$. my gfriend gives me dirty looks everytime i took it out to show off to the boys hahaha

sharpmaker is good one , the knife sharpener at works uses the lansky as do one or two other knife hands / butchers

Do a Google search on the art of Convex sharpening...its a method I dont stray from often, gives the single best edge on a blade I know. Its not for EVERY blade but its sure the best for most!
