had a bit of fun in the kitchen this morning with an attempt to make some fallow jerky.

i decided to try 2 marinades with one being jindydivers sweet chilly marinade (trident sweet chilly and a bit of hoison sauce)

the next marinade was a high plains marinade which consisted of

soy sauce, whorcestershire sauce, garlic, brown sugar, peper, chilli powder and thats it.

well i marinated 2 small lots of meat for an hour

then on the rack in the oven at lowest possible temp it went. my oven goes to 60 degrees. i also kept the door open with a wooden spoon

after 3 hours or so it was well on its way

i just got half of the dried stuff out an hour ago and the peices that were a bit thicker are still in but should be ready very soon. i loved both types but dad liked the sweet chili a little more. it was a good learning experience
in fact i am munching on some now
enjoy

Where is mine jerky, jerk.

Thanks for sharing dude, I love the stuff (hint hint) and get a lot of pleasure out of sitting around cam making jerky for everyone (hint hint) then eating most of it myself (in the field while walking and around the fire).

Great stuff, will try this method when I get home
