View Full Version : Back on my old spot
For those that remember i lost my favourite property last year because of someone else, well i finally got back on and went out thisafter noon located 4 x Sambar stags 1 x Hind and calf.
Drew on a 18" stag @ 15m but was not happy with the angle of the shot so i let him be.
also drew on a 8" spiker @ 6m broadside but let him go as i have enough meat at the moment.
Just love getting this close to deer i recon it's great.
Thats awesome mate, must be good just seeing animals like that.

p.s we need pictures, we love pictures.
Good on ya piggy for showing such restraint. Atleast you know their there for next time hey.
Like Jeff I would have taken the shot, for I have never shot a deer and freezer is empty to :(
Oh yeah by the way how did you manage to get back onto that property.
Did you just stay intouch and suck up a bit or what??
Year i thought of that but you have to make a choice between bow or camera as you never know what may come along and knowing my luck i would take the camera and see the big fellas.
My mates recon i'm going soft not shooting them, i passed up a 35" +++ billy at 15m acouple of weeks ago, drew on him just didn't take the shot and watched him walk away

You have serious issue and shoul dhave your head checked mate, sounds to me like you have a screw loose.
Its good to hold back sometimes mate, and there's no use shooting if you don't feel the need to.
While on my red deer hunt I passed up a few animals early in the peace, but anyone of them would have meant a lot to me and as much a trophy as the stag I got. For some reason it felt good to hold off though and drag the feeling of maybe getting my first red deer out. Sounds like your enjoying yourself mate and thats most important.
Can you send some sambar over soon(live)
