Anyone else practice fast, accurate target acquisition?

I don't practice for outright accuracy anymore just how fast I can raise, draw and shoot the compound accurately.

When I say accurately, I mean within a 2" circle at 20mtrs.

My usual is 3-4 second with an occaisonal 5s econd rushed shot through poor form.

At the moment I can put two or three into a 5c piece in three seconds.

Release aid is locked onto the loop with the bow in normal carrying position, counting starts as soon as you start to raise the bow.

I will post pics on a clean target tomorrow

I dont really understand the point behind doing this? A rushed shot is generally a bad shot that can be inhumane to an animal:o....better to take your time and get a clean kill mate...

we used to have a speed shoot at the tully club. 10m shot and 20secs to shoot as man as u can. 5pts per arrow and 20pts per kill. best i saw was a recurve get 8 away for 7 kills. i could only get 3-4 away with the comp and release. u had to have your arrows in your quiver and no release attached. its amazing how easy it is to miss your d loop with your release when u are in a hurry! it was a good fun novilty event!

Mate, that is what practice is all about.

Getting it right for hunting.

If you can shoot fast and accurate you have a better chance with game in a spot and stalk situation.

This is not to promote rushed shots but to speed up the form and reflexes for hunting so you actually have more time for the shot.

The only way to get better at something is to practice.
