well before the wife and i headed up to darwin for our working holiday I had 2 goals while here.
*1 a metre plus barra
*2 a buffalo with the bow
well we have been here for about 2 months and the few like minded people i have met have given me even more ideas for goals.
Ben kleinig has offerd to take me on a donkey and camel hunt in june. i never thought of hunting either of these 2 animals before reading beno's hunting the desert threads but now i am really looking forwad to the chalenge of taking on australia's tallest game animal.
the boys at the top end bowhunters club are eager to get me out once the water dries abit. they have plenty acces to hogs and a few spots that hold buff.
i have cought a 96cm barra so pretty close to that goal and am happy with that if that is as close as i get to the meter mark.
so all in all its looking pretty good. all i have to do is practice my ass off. i hope to take all the above with the curve. heres a few pics of my recent practice sessions. cheers cooke

jezza its a bow made by a mate, Dave keable. he calls them ravins. its my first real recurve. its shoots nice very smooth and punches out an arrow. its only 63 lb might get a set of 70lb limbs for it as i am having no worries at all with holding at that wieght, will also help with the big game i want to target up here.

beno thanks for the invite mate, the mrs and i want to get down that way also. have to make a few plans. probably be around sept or so.

Looks like things are going well in the top end, get to know Paul aka "Fitter" from the bowhunting club as he is a great hunter & knows the area well up there.

Tell him I said G'day.
