Mate the best one you can afford how much can you spend and what do you want it for.

spiderbait24,poundage wise you'd be best off going around 40-45#,because if you go to heavy, your form will become sloppy and bad habits are hard to get rid of..then as you build up strength and good techinic then go up abit!!!!cheers Rob

50# is what my dad dose and i can pull it back, but 40 45# sounds like a more sensible option, im looking at the internature long bow or a samick curve.

Hi Danny,an old archer who taught me how to shoot my t/d recurve 18 years ago properly ,said you should be able to pull back to your anchor 10-15 times without struggling(with ease) otherwise the weight is to much..and you are still young so plenty of time to go up in weight....you don't want to stuff your shoulder..as i have had bad shoulder pain(off &on) from hurting my shoulder at least 15+ years ago...to only find out through an ultrasound just before easter i have 2 tears in the tendon in my shoulder and have had for a long time.....so now looks like i 've got to be operated on (not looking forward to that ..won't be shooting for a while)so take your time, you've got plenty left...and there's plenty of trad bows outhere to choose from just go with your budget,as this one won't be the last one you buy....;)..cheers Rob

Danny, good advice from Rob, don't overbow yourself. Howard Hill who was probably the greatest archer of modern times said to find a bow you can comfortably draw and hold as Rob said and then go 5# lighter. Most people who have problems shooting their bow are either overbowed or have been overbowed and still paying the price and it can take many years to overcome the problems of being overbowed if ever...Glenn...

Yeah #50 on a recurve feels alot more than #60 pounds on a compound.
