g'day guys, just a caryon from the perth hills thread, just wondering what sort of terrain should i be looking for, for each type of game eg goat, pig, deer etc

i know the pigs like water so im staying on the rivers to see what pulls up and see if we cant nail a pig or two or three:D

any help fella's, my all time game would be a goat!, i know deer are great but theres just something about goats that i love!

thanks fella's.

had heaps of recent rain Spidey so i wouldn't bother with that. don't mention name's (avon) and remember a lotta that area is out of bounds. i'd be concentrating on finding an area offering feed (crops/orchards) and cover (good patch of forest close by). after all this rain fresh tracks are easily observed so try and find where pigs entering/leaving property to/from bush by walking property boundary. trouble with pigs is they're almost totally nocturnal (wouldn't bother trying to find where they're bedding during day myself) and once you've found where you think they're at you need to be in position at first light. half the hunt is finding where the game is.

rangers have shot out all but about 2 goats in that area you mentioned.

most orchards are small Spidey. i took my first pigs with bow in Perth Hills on a tiny orchard. they like digging around orchard tree's roots for bulbs etc and after this rain freshly turned earth be obvious.
