ask your local club to bring whatever they need to test you at the next club shoot... thats what our club does.

That's right, the BPC is only done by the ABA. The SSAA just get you to do the closed book exam, at least that's what I did. If your not a member it should only cost you $20.

You can also get the r-licence to cover hunting with dogs and other animals, firearms and black powder, as well as bows when done with the SSAA. All in one hit.

The G licence covers hunting for deer on private land,( you do not nee a G Licence to hunt ferals) if you wish to hunt any of the opened public land areas (ie state forest etc), you need to have the R LICENCE, and only after you have the R Licence can you then apply to the GC for a permit in the state forest where you wish to hunt.

Husky,
Ask about the BPC at your nearest ABA club. They will be able to help you out. Your nearest club is Boolaroo Bowman. Their contact details are in the local yellow pages under archery clubs.
An R license covers all hunting allowed under a G license and hunting on declared public lands. So if you only need a R license.

You only need a G license if you are only hunting deer on private land. You do not need one if you are chasing feral animals such as rabbits, pigs, goats foxes etc on private land.

The BPC is a course devolped by the ABA for training and accrediting bowhunters and has been recognised as an approved training course for meeting the requirtments of the R license (bows).
The test is closed book and a shooting test.

The other method is approach an Approved Hunting Organisation and do the NSW Hunter Education Handbook test for bowhunting. Again someone at Boolaroo Bowmen can help you with this.

Check out the Game Gouncil Website for more info. www.gamecouncil.nsw.gov.au
