View Full Version : Horse Attack
Just thought I would mention this to those who do not know. Parking your car in a paddock with horses is a BIG NO NO. I parked my newish 4WD on the plateau and headed off after some goats. I did see two horses there and had heard many years ago they will damage a vehicle. Upon my return they had give the vehicle a real thrashing. Chewed everything from the steering wheel to the trim on the back door. Gave the bonnet some nice teeth marks, bent the windscreen wiper, scratched the snorkel, chewed the 5hitter out of the plastic patrol sign near the bonnet to mention only a few.
So here a thumbs up, horses and cars dont go together.
The upside was Jason and I got a goat each, live and learn guys.

That can't be good
oooops!!!sorry to hear about that Howie......it was a nice 4wd for a nissan!!!!
So you know for next time, Horse meat is really good.
Only fair too. Horse eats your car, you eat the horse.
(I have eaten horse in numerous forms in europe- salami, sausage, steaks, hamburgers, and it was all very very nice. They even have a take away chain in Slovenia called 'Hot Horse'- and to my surprise that is what they served.....)
Unlucky Howie. Do you think your insurance will cover horse vandels?
Obviously they were jelouse of the amount of horse power you had under the bonnet.:P;)
Or they must have thought that it was a giant suger cube.
That sux!
I hope it doesn't hurt the hip pocket too much mate
I can hear the chuckles at the insurance company, Horse attack ?
Years ago I killed a few horses and never thought about doing it again, UNTIL YESTERDAY. Be easy a grand or so to repair, oh well - ya get that!!!!!!
Horse sausage sambo's, hmm - could be tasty.
Sorry to hear that howie. Thanks for the heads up mate.
This might be a stupid question, but were they wild horses? I hope your insurance covers it.
Never been a big fan of the horse. Never knew that though, sory to hear about your ride howie.
They were tame horses. A couple of people I have told my story to have also told me horror stories of nags completely destroying vehicles.
As the saying goes, Not happy Jan...........
Expensive goat that one......
Thwack!

Horrible luck Howie - they sure can make a mess of a car. Hope your insurance coughs up, let us know if they don't and we'll write em a few letters of support, as I'm sure this could happen to any of us.
I remember when I was a kid, at our local agricultural show, a couple of horses got into the makeshift outdoor showroom that the local Holden dealer had set up at the show and they ate or chewed all the plastic and rubber off the outside of a brand new commodore, (Wipers,, window trims, rear view mirrors, door trims, bumper bars, Etc). Everyone except the car dealer thought it was pretty funny, but the horses totally wrecked the car.
WOW, i never knew they were capable of doing that. Thats the first horror story ive ever heard of horses, but will make sure i remember it. Thanks howie.

Oh man, I would have warned you about the risks of leaving vehicles or motorbikes near horses. Sorry mate, having seen what they can do to a car before I know how you must have felt. :o
what cheeky BASTARDS . Petty you cant rub their noses in a couple of their own dung piles to teach them a lesson.
Not that they'd know what the hell it was for if you did .
Sorry to hear about the damage mate!

You can take out insurance against that sort of thing happening. this is the insurance I take out to ensure my cruiser is not damaged by those dangerous animals..

The pet meaters help out too, they took about 3500 of these from this area not so long ago. Seriously they can do real damage when you slam into one with the car as their centre of gravity is quite high and there are lots of them up here roaming around.
Is that your trolley on the ground for carying out all the meat :)
