looks great, good work mate dont think i'd have the patience for it:rolleyes:
Kim you are a man of many talents . Plan on hunting with those knapped heads ?
I tried some knapping years ago using rock gathered by a mate of a mate out Mount Isa way . I also found thunder chert [ broken cisterns and basins ] worked well . Have never got back around to learning how properly and my attemps where really rough .
Thanks guys yes it does try the patience at the start thats for sure....
Perry I very much plan on hunting with them I hope to get to the stage of hunting with a self bow I made using these heads I think that would be awsome.I to have tried the china you talk of but it was only for practice.I got a bit of obsidian from a mate and it knapps real nice but can be hard to get.The glass knapps good too and I think until I get more Obsidian this is the way I will go.I need to get some more copper nails but have come up blank.
Cheers KIM
The boys at the Hunter Valley club tell me the Port in Newcastle has a good quantity of old obsidian ships balast that can be got from shore - perhaps one of the friendly blokes down there could grab some for you . Who knows other ports about the country must have obsidian or similar dumped in them , sure I remember Glenn telling me that as well .
regards Perry

nice work mate
The glass head looks good Kim. You might be able to get some copper nails from ship supplies and the solid copper bars electricians use to earth a house might be handy, or are those bars just encased in copper...Glenn...
