View Full Version : longbow help
Well I have decided that I want to give trad a go I have been looking around and I like the look of the cartel longbow but I know nothing about longbows so if you have any info on this bow like the quality and stuff like that would be greatly apreaceated
Thomas
Dose anyone know anything about this bow?
Thomas.
It's a good longbow to start out with mate, very good value for money. Take a look at the Samicks as well.
The Samick range is a good way to start . They have a couple of longer models that have a locator type grip that is a little easier to get comfortable with than a straight grip with a slight deflex reflex that shoot pretty well and a shorter more deflex reflexed model called a Verna with a more recurve like grip that could be easier for a new trad shooter to adapt too .

Hey mate, personally I prefer the quality of the Cartel Internature Viper longbows over the Samicks. They are cheaper, look better and in my opinion, shoot better. Check them out at www.archeryshop.com.au or give me a buzz on 02 6239 2899 and I will fill you in on the pros and cons ;)
Cheers,
Jase.
What Razor said.
I shot both and ended up with an Internature viper. Its no blackwidow but it shoots well and they are nice and cheap.
Yes the Viper is a nice bow. I had one a few months back it was 45# but spat the arows out nicely.
I only sold it as I had a brain fart at the time thinking I'd get another recurve, that never happened. Oh well will get another long bow oneday.
The only thing I found is that they do benefit from having string silencers put on such as the cats whiskers. Once silencers were installed it was a nice bow to shoot.
Thanks for the help guys.
Thomas.
