Well done, thats fantastic. Ive had photos printed in the local newspapers around here plenty of times, and on the cover of a C.S.I.R.O. booklet, as well as used in ASWA presentations, but never received any coin for any of it.
The only time i received money, was when mcnaughts comet was here in january last year. My photo was front page of the local paper, and 9 people contacted me wanting to buy the prints.
I have never expected money, simply because my photography is my hobbie, (took wedding photos for some money for a while but didnt enjoy it). The only time i got upset, and very upset i must say, was when the ASWA (australian severs weather association) took some photos off my website to use in a presentation, and never even asked my permission. Thankfully i had a mate at the presentation to tell me thay had done it.

A mate and myself co wrote a story for the same magazine and never got it printed because he had a line in there " the wind blew up my a%$e". We contacted them and they told us thats why they didn't print it. We told them to change the wording if they wanted to. Still it wasn't printed. We then asked for our artical to be returned. Nothing. We phoned them again, nothing happend. That was just over 5 years ago, and we still haven't seen or heard anything.
On a brighter note, congratulations on getting your story printed and getting a few dollars for doing something you love to do, well done.
