I have heard along the grape vine that from june this year you have to be 16 and 9 months before attempting your 'Learners' driving test. Not only that, when you do get your licence you have to complete 150 hrs of driving over a minimum period of a year.
My next birthday is in march '09' so that means i have to wait like 19 months to get my L's. (from now)
I am still not 100% sure wether the laws are changing but if what I said is right then I would be interested on other people views about the new law changes.

yeah they have already changed. i got my l's before it came in though. i thought it was 120 hours with 20 hours of night driving though.
That sucks big time. especialy for the younger ones tha tleave school early to start an apprenticship or the like.
I got my L's on my 16 birthday and a month later had my full license (no P plates back then...in the ACT anyway):P;)

the joys of the modern world!! In the good old days, it was .05 none of this stupid time stuff and a minimum 3 lessons on your learners they were the only requirements. Plus do the ton and only have p,s for a year. I hope I never have to do my ticket again, I would fail for sure..

Yeah it was easier in my day...but with the top speed of a FB Holden, and being built like a tank,we couldnt get in too much trouble....as the cars get faster, its bound to get harder....Sadly as a truckie for 26 years, and now a fire fighter, ive seen too many young people take their last breath at crash scenes....take your time, and do an advanced driver course in my opinion....
