Howdy All, just thought Id drop a line. I know I will take some flak over my bow choice, however my first real dedicated bow choice is a Browining Illusion.
Haven't had the opportunity to bust its cherry, however it has been setup in an 15mtr indoor archery range in Cairns Archery store. Its a comfort to shoot. Lot of people will say "Poor Mans Mathews" however like most things in life, you could have 2k bow setup that isnt worth S@#T if you dont know how to use it / skill. (ps not saying I have both either 8). Big questions is as follows; how will the browning stand up over a duration of time.....
will let you know of any + or - i come across
Welcome aboard Illusion 05, there are plenty of members on here with a wealth of knowledge that will be more than happy to help you out with any questions and, probably as you say bag you out over your bow choice :D but their all good, enjoy the site.
illision i started on compounds with a browing bow and it served me well unitl my skill level increased and i went on to purchase a hoyt bow.

Welcome aboard illusion. I owned a browning at one time, cant remember which model but it was an ok bow. Think I know which browning is yours by the way, am sure I have seen it hanging on the wall at Nimo's a fair few times. :D

Howdy all, tanks for your replies....... Me love my Browning very much, as i said before its my real dedicate bow i have decided to stick too...
Im not one to knock bows, i can see money well spent in mathews in regards to workmenship and attention to detail, you defintely get what you pay for in that department, however it seems to me that people are sticking it into the "hoyters", I saw my first 05 hoyt bow the other day and I must say for the money paid for it, id be happy to stick with my browning. It aint a mathews thats for sure, but it definetly aint a hoyt........
Happy Hunting

sif knock a hoyt :P I love my hoyt.
Everyone has their own preference and to be quite honest I diddnt care much for the mathews Ive seen.
ALL BOWS WITH WHEELS SUCK, HOW DO YAS LIKE THAT
Nothing wrong with Hoyt bows, If I was going to shoot compounds again I'd get a hoyt. Not going to happen
The brand name has nothing to do with it, its the hunters name behind it. Buy the best compound money can buy, put it in th hands of an average hunter and he'll shoot average, put that bow in one of the extreme bowhunting nuts hands on this site and he'll be boiling out trophy heads and cooking you a roast leg in camp.

I have seen you shoot, you would not handle a Mathews  Seriously, I know a few people in the states who use the Brownings and have found them all quality to use. If you and Bill are playing darts on Saturday, maybe, just maybe i might be able to come down for a couple of rounds.

Yup I would Agree Adam.
But just as man invented the wheel to drive down to the shop so as to buy a lighter to light the fire to boil the trophy head and cook that roast, i'll be horn swaggled if i'll go back to using a stick weather it be to light a fire or get my dinner ! :P
Execpt of course the Carbon sticks I waste on hogs of all shapes and sizes !!
I'll quite happily "Mathews mine to death" wheel and all, and as for the hoyt issue, if they were the last bow left on earth I would be whittleing away on a red ironwood long bow long before the Hoyt arose in my hand !! :D
But no matter what you use and or how you use it, those who can "do", those who cant "try" and we just let the rest "Lie" because thats Bowhunting in all it rawness...........
please excuse the typos and or bad spelling, never claimed to be telligent :P

Seriously, are there any other Illusion holders out there? What are your thoughts on your Illusion, recently as willy has mentioned Im begining to have some cam "creeping" or a slight noise comming from the cam area, cant exactly isolate this or confirm it is is not from handling errror 8) but would like to know on others experience with B Illusion.

Illusion !! I realise I will see you in 12 or so hours but "You Turkey"........................................
You have taken it in the field once ! you are not drawing across your idler !
Now I will point out for the viewers at home tis Illusions first bow !!
Illusion is one fine Commonwealth / Olympic grade shot gunner ( Infact He is off to Japan on Wednesday for some Fancy woohoo Shotgun Do "Lucky Bugger)Sorry I didnt take any notice Illusion but ya know I couldnt give a bats Booger about shotgun shooting.
He has been shooting every concievable type of Firearm from the tender age of 4 or possibly younger.
Well for someone who has been swinging a shotgun around for 15 odd years to picking up a bow seriously a few months ago "he does allright" makes a Mean Bow String too.
But mechanicly minded he is Like John Holmes is to Snap on !! One huge Tool ! Sorry bud but ya know its true !
You keep making them sexy strings And i'll stop ya Bow Squeaking !
Its A pretty hi tech job as coach pointed out .....but I might be able to fit it in before Lunch !
Cheers Willy :P

my cousin has got a browning which he has had for a good few years
and he's shot some good **** with it, and it groups the arrows nicely.
but he is complaining its a bit heavy lugging around in the field so he
wants to trade it for..............
"one of those hoyt thingies."

Going to give Darcy a call tomorrow am. Its the only time I have to argue with him. Iam hoping he just comes good. I do hate that drive to Townsville and I will only get madder and madder the longer it takes.
