You can find some interesting stuff wasting time on Youtube. Here's a moose having a go at a bowhunter (I'm not sure that the shot angle was optimum):

Rossy, what was the outcome of the hunt? Did they recover it alright? Was it a one-arrow kill, or did it require a finisher? Cheers, Ben
found the magizine Ben,it was shot filming for Bowhunting Magazine TV, in YUKON.The bull stopped after the charge and ran back the other way, collapsin after 200 yards .It was shot by Dwight Schuh, editor for the mag

Well, maybe I was a bit too quick with the angle presumption, as 200 yards for a rutted-up bull isn't too shabby, and Dwight Schuh sure knows his stuff. Thanks for the offer, Rossy - very kind of you. I'll send a PM. Cheers, Ben

Why would you take the shot?
IMO it wasnt a very smart move on the hunters part...

Im on the mooses side. If your out there to kill, you cant complain when the animal attacks back. A good hunter would make sure the shot will put him down, or at least far away enough that it wont take a split second for the moose to react and attack.
Hunting in a way is about getting out there in nature and realising you are a part of it. You are allready have an advantage that you dont have to use your own two hands, so be prepared if an animal is going to attack back to defend itself. An animal that did nothing to provoke you by the way.
Not to say that it would be a good outcome if that moose flattened that fella, of course not, but you cant say that if he was at home minding his own business it wouldnt of happened.
And I wouldnt of taken the shot, see the size of those antlers, I would want to make sure it was a good shot, and that I was far away :).

I dont agree there, taking something that big in those conditions your probably better off taking the closer option, even at 15 - 20m you would have been faced with scrub and tree branches = lesser chance of precise shot placement.
That bloke who took the shot would have realized the dangers involved. It was his choice weather or not to take the shot. We cant say he did the wrong or right thing as he did get out pretty much unharmed and did take the bull down in the end.
