don't know about you but i'm sick of making a target and then 2000 arrows later having to brain storm for another sort of target that i could make cos its been shreaded into bite sized pieces... so the BIG question... whats the best homemade target that i can put together for little price and not much work (well i'm happy to do a bit of work if its worth my time) and that arrows won't go to far into. the targets i have made have been... cardboard, all kinds of foam, feed bags... etc... an help would be appreciated

Go down to the local op shop and buy an old foam mattress. Cut it into half long ways and then cut each half into three blocks. You can then stack the foam and wrap it in a piece of shade cloth. You will get two targets out of one mattress and if it is a good thick one it will pull up your arrows no sweat.

Buy one of the large stripey bags then go to your local supermarket and ask if you can have their Pallet wrap ( a type of tough Cling Wrap they use to wrap Pallets of goods for shipping)
Stuff the bag full of Wrap and you have a durable, cheap target.
No good for broad heads but you will get years of practice out of the wrap and just put the Stripey bag into another when the bag gets shot out.
I made a target with the wrap with shade cloth faces that I have used for nearly two years now and still going strong.
Made the mistake first time of just using plastic bags instead of the wrap, it worked but the bags were cut into small pieces and didn't pull up the arrows.

The cuts in the shade cloth are my first trials with broad heads which I had to cut out with a knife.
4 bodyboards strapped together work pretty well
When the front one starts to wear out you just move it to the back.

Had one like Warlockes that lasted years too. Instead of the plastic just used Rags / old clothes. Every now and then you would need to rearrange the rags inside and maybe add a few. Used 2nd hand carpet for the face and carpet offcuts as the targets. This was left outside in all weather.
Not for broadheads as they will need to be cut out:).
Cost nothing...

We use a butt similar to Warlockes..but stuffed with dacron(the cotton wool looking filler used for lounges etc.)...a huge 'bulker bag'(about 4' cube) is only $15....after years you may need new shade cloth, but the dacron will see you out....and your expensive target arrows will thank you for it.......i wouldnt use brawdy's though.

Heres a pic of an Allens archery "burlap" target face....like a hesian bag..designed to accept thousands of shots..the loose weave fabric spreads to accept the arrow without actualy cutting any threads...this one has had over 1000 arrows in it ..with no damage...as the next arrow hits nearby spreading the fabric..the previous hole close back up....i hang mine on a big hay bale...2 archers can practice without as much nock damage..as theres 2 faces...comes in this style and also available with deer pattern...bought it at the local sport store for under $20..highly reccommended...again..not for brawdy's
