Well all started after a call last night and we had planned for about a 10am start for today we got the place about 11 and noticed some goats moving off over a hill. We parked the car further down and walked back into the STEEP hills looking for them. After a fair hike we found them again and managed to get above them and had them walk right to us. There was a nice Billy in the mob but the young ones came within 10m so i dropped a young Billy then the second young Billy stuck around too long and i dropped him from 25m.

We got it on camera and looks great. We found another lot of goats but they got our wind and bolted. But on our way back we heard a bleat and sure enough there were more goats above us so we backtracked a bit and managed to get within 3m of a brown nanny and Jamie nailed her through the shoulder but we could not find her in the thick scrub. He then had time to drop another nice skinned nanny.

On the walk back i made another stalk on 3 billies but missjudged my stalk and came out too far down from them and they just sat there looning at me from 50m. But a little further down the hill i came across a long nanny and shot her on camera from 10m.

We saw some nice ones but didnĂ*t get any trophies. Did the property owners a favour and it was good fun to boot so overall a good day

Jamie is a relation of mine. The one responsible for getting me into bowhunting!

But you are right there coach and i think i have enough footage of the small ones and i am going to be a LOT more selective for now on because my arrows dont like the rocks on the other side of the small goats. They dont slow the arrow down much but a big solid old billy might.
Saw some nice billies there that day around the 30inch mark and got very close to one but wind changed.
some pics

They are not a very known brand they called perfect line we orded 2000 of them in and sell them on ebay per dozen so i get them cheaper than from the shops. They come with straight fletching though so i have to refletch them to use with 2blade heads. They shoot well though and i havent had any problems with them :D

At 40m with no wind and with field points within 4" group. And with the supremes i can get them within a cd size circle and the gladiators used to be the same as the field points.

Well done Macka looks as though u have had some reasonable rain out that way looks to be a bit of feed around for the goats is there many decent sized billies out there or have u fixed them up already?.It must be good knowing u will probably find goats to get on most outings better than here where they all hide in the national parks.
Cheers Emu

Hey Emu there are some big billies around there but very hard to find and very cunning. Yeah it is good here because there is somthing very wrong if ya come home without seeing a goat.

i live about 65km from armidale in n.s.w in a little place called walcha.
my dad is a keen hunter and has been all over australia and even to new zealand hunting (rifle).
we have a propery about a half hours drive from home where i bowhunt and he rifle hunts goats.
about 15-17 years ago he used to practically live out there and has some very nice goat heads.
he said that a 37 inch spread was quite usual and was not uncommon to get 42 + inche spreads.
good huntin
