Hey it's Mitch again
Went for a hunt yesturday ( saturday ) but came home empty handed cos i was trying to get a decent billy but the wind was a bit strong and it kept swirling all over the place, so most of the time the billy's new i was there even befor one presented a good shot. Anyway I went back today with my bro, The wind was a little better but wasn't swirling around and changing direction all the time witch was good, so i had a feeling that i was going to have some sucsess. Me and my brother left at about 11am for Round Mountain on the quad and arived there about 20 min later after having a quick scout around we found a nice groupe of billies about 10 strong so we parked the bike a couple of paddock's away and started to make our way towards them. After we started to get a bit closer to them we stoped near a tree and had a look at them through the bino's. Here's a pic of them.

After we had a good look at them we decided that it was probably best to backtrack around the hill and come up behind them, plus the wind was blowing the way we wanted it when we got around there so we where happy. I pick a nice looking billy with the biggest rack and started to stalk them. After having no sucsess with them cos there was little to no cover we decided to leave them for another day and mad our way back around the other side of the mountain where we saw a few goats earlier. This is where the fun began, We walked just over the next hill and found a good group of goats arround 20 - 25 strong with about 3/4 of them billies. We got a bit closer to them and my brother stayed behind a tree with the camera and bino's while I walk back and crossed the fence and stalked up and waited behind some tree's as they where moving forward towards me as they where graizing. This is the part where I started to shake because there where goats all around me and one small movment would have cost me the goat i had my eye on. Well I very slowly ( and carfully ) brought my bow to full draw and just as i saw him released and pinned him just behind the shoulder. He ran about 30 m then expired. This is the billy.

Anyway after that i prepared the meat and trophie and placed them under the shade of a nearby tree so we could go after another one. After a couple of min walking we found another good mob of goats and there was a really good fallen tree nearby that would make a good ambush point, so we quietly waalk over and positioned ourselves in amoungst the branches. After about 10 min of waiting the group of goats where almost within shooting distance. Here's a picky

( Its the one on the far left )
Anyway i had a shot at him and hit him right in the centre of his right sholder, the arrow pasted straight through him and imbeded in the ground about 3m behind him. This is the **** part. We spent 3 1/2 hours tracking him and he never droped and we ended up loosing him in some really thick scrub. Anyhow all up the day was good and I bagged a nice billy.
Mitch
P.S Maybe next time ill find him and beable to get him for good. lol
P.P.S sorry bout the picture quality.
