If I were to do Africa then this would be my type of hunt. All spot and stalk on wary animals and I am especially excited by the fact that you got on to some fully free ranging animals on a neighbouring property re: Kudu etc... Thank you very much for sharing your tale with us Will, as we do not get a lot of African content on here. Fine story and some fine hunting.

There is only one bad thing about Africa, once you go - you will want to return again and again. Thats a fact......

Thanks Tali, I nearly wet my pants when I saw him and darn near missed my opportunity. He was bedded under a bush with a doe-midday. I slowly worked within forty yards; I used a bush as cover. When I broke cover to make the shot, the doe busted me. The buck came to his feet and stared directly at me. We made eye contact. I released. The arrow struck him as he quartered away. We found him dead two hundred yards into thicker bush. He's 14 7/8" on one side and 14 5/8" on the other. He's definitely beyond anything I ever imagined.

I wish you the very best of luck on your trip!

Congrats mate nice animals you took there, especially for spot and stalk, that is a screamer of a buck. That cape buff in your pics is a good'en too.

Thanks Mick and Excel,

What's hunting if you cannot share? I wish I could bundle you all up and return back to Africa with the whole lot. There is something very special about being right there where we got our start.

I hope I can share more.....Thanks!

Thanks for sharing mate. I really enjoyed your article and photo's, tough luck about the lens!
I have never really held much interest in hunting Africa, though your story of non typical game & locations paints a fine picture. Cheers

Wow, something to do before i die i reakon to hunt in africa. Though it wouldn't feel the same for me as shooting ferals is how i justify the killing in hunting. I'd have problems knocking over a cat etc but wouldn't have a problem dropping the different types of buck. i'd really like to get a hog those guys really have great tusks.
