PNG HUNT

Has anyone ever hunted PNG as I am going over there for a fishing trip in april/may 2006 just wondering what species of deer they have?

Bear you may want to forget the bow. I lived in PNG for 12 months and for all my trying I could not get permission to hunt. The locales will only see you as money, and when you get he kill the price will go up and up and up until you are in a world of POO. If you want some info on the laws you can give me a call. The Bensbach region has Rusa deer in good numbers, but there hasn't been much hunting there lately as the hunting lodge is closed down.
Oh and Coach, they aren't bass - They're Pitbulls with fins :twisted:

Thanx for that just thought I may be able to hunt in between my tug of war with black bass and spot tail bass, like you say chris if to much of a drama bugger it I'll just fish :wink:

I was just there for 6 weeks and got to spear hunt pig and wallaby with some locals, mind you I went very remote in to a village where the locals had very little value for currency, All they wanted were batteries for thir torches (they had no electricity) and they were happy chaps.

It was a place called Sofia you can only get there by plane and then I walked for half a day to the village I personally only bagged the one wallaby after the locals practicly set fire to a whole mountain, but the locals caught wild pig and heaps of wallaby. good trip all round

I stongly urge you to take malria shots and anti maleria tablets and a mosqito net and insect repepelent.

I got back and had to spend a week in hospital because I had two types of maleria.
