Took off to set up my game camera on the plataeu today. i found a nice little clearing in the thicker part of the property where the rabbits requent. i then moved on to try and bag a bunny with the bow. i walked for a bit seeing a fair few out and about and having the odd stare off. i was coming over the rise on the side of the plataeu when i saw a rabbit run and stand outside its warren behind some decent rocks about 8m infront of me. i crouched down and turned my bow flat on its side and drew back (its always good to shoot a comfortable poundage where you can draw your bow in any position) i then slowly rose and another rabbit ran up the hill and sat next to its mate. they didnt really know i was there so i took my time and lined up the closest one for a front on shot. just before i released i said ''good night:cool:'' and sent the PUP slamming into its chest nocking the rabbit down between some rocks. i got over to it and pulled him out. surprisingly he needed to be finished off, and he wasn't going without a fight thats for sure. i walked back to where i set the game cam up and put the rabbits insides and skin in a pile in hope of getting some pictures of a mangey fox i saw there one time. after cleaning the rabbit up i thought i would try out a little stand i made in a tree where the rabbits feed everyday. i was only in there for about 15minutes before a rabbit came out and fed to within 3m of me, never giving me a chance to draw. another 30 or so minutes passed and i hade half a dozen rabbits feeding no more then 20m away, the closest being 2m, nearlly right under my stand, it was amazing to watch these animals feed so close to me and yet have no idea i was there. i never got to draw on one of them and a couple of them got my wind and headed for the blackberrys. it was getting late and i wanted to get home and try make a real ''stick and string bow:)'' so i got out the fox whistle and blew on that a few times to scare the remaining rabbits into the blackberrys so they didnt see me get out of the tree and become more educated then what they already are.

it was a really good day out in the end.

p.s the bow i made turned out good for a 3 yr old. about 7lbs at 26'' 45'' long and shoots about 1 meter to the left and 10 inches low from 5m:P, good fun though.
